      • ABOUT US

We believe that there is a strong need for a more personalised support service for
Veterans struggling with transferring from the ADF into Civilian life.
This is why Barry Heffernan OAM, Vietnam Veteran and Founder of the William Kibby VC Veterans Shed

has now focussed his energy into supporting Veterans with his new company Veterans Welfare.

Barry brings a wealth of experience to Veterans Welfare to provide this voluntary service

to those in need of a ‘mate’ to help them. He has dealt with both male and female former and

current serving members of the ADF. Many of these Veterans suffered abuse while

in service thus urging Barry to be instrumental in setting up the DART (Defence Abuse Task Force).

From his experience he set three major points that need addressing with Veterans Welfare.

Firstly, Veterans Welfare identifies with the vast problems that a Veteran can have.
We have the empathy of having served to be able to assist the Veteran with the difficulties adjusting to the civilian life.

Secondly, no matter how difficult your situation may be, Veterans Welfare knows how to listen

and we set a course together to manage the Veteran’s situation.

Thirdly, Veterans Welfare has contacts in the industry for professional services that can be made

to the Veteran. We tailor our Rehab programs to fit each of the Veterans concerns and monitor their progress.

Let us know if we can assist you in any way.
        Absolute confidentiality assured
This voluntary service is provided by Veterans for Veterans.
